What is an LRC file?

An LRC file is a plain-text lyric file in which every line starts with a timestamp, such as [00:12.40] for 12.4 seconds. Music players, karaoke apps and lyric widgets read the timestamps to show each line at the moment it is sung.

How to make an LRC file

Timing a three-minute song takes about as long as listening to it once.

    Load the song

    Choose or drop the audio file. It plays from your device and is never uploaded.

    Paste the lyrics

    One line per row. Section tags like [Chorus] can be skipped automatically.

    Tap along

    Press play, then press Space as each line begins. Backspace undoes a tap.

  4. [00:09.00]

    Check and export

    Play it back, nudge any line by 0.1 s, then download LRC, SRT, VTT or ASS.

Which format should I export?

LRC
For music players and karaoke apps. Stores when each line starts.
SRT
For YouTube, video editors and most video players. Each line has a start and end.
VTT
WebVTT, the caption format of web video players and the HTML5 track element.
ASS
Advanced SubStation Alpha, for styled subtitles in Aegisub, MPV and video tools.
TXT
The plain lyrics without times, for sharing or pasting elsewhere.

Is this LRC maker free?

Yes. The LRC Maker is free, needs no account and has no export limits.

Is my song uploaded?

No. The audio and lyrics stay in your browser. Files are created on your device, and only your lyrics and times are saved locally so you can continue later.

Can I edit an existing LRC file?

Yes. Import a .lrc or .srt file: its times are kept, so you can fix single lines or shift the whole file earlier or later.

Does it work with songs made in Suno or other AI music apps?

Yes. Download the song audio from your music app, paste its lyrics and tap along. Section tags such as [Verse] can be skipped automatically.

Can I time each word for karaoke?

Not yet. This version times whole lines. Word-level timing and automatic AI sync are planned.
